“While it is often said that anyone can be a nurse, it takes an exceptional person to exemplify what nursing truly is. Joanne is such a person. She takes the time to design individual care to ensure that her patients’ needs are met. She can be seen taking the extra time needed to understand and empathize to ensure the quality of care she desires for her clients, despite being put behind in her work. While her clients are the focus of Joanne’s care, other staff also benefit from her knowledge and actions. Joanne continually educates herself to ensure great care and is an example to other nurses of the importance of continuing education. She is always willing to help her coworkers.”
